Shortly after being crowned Asia’s Best Female Chef, Chef Jo joined Chef Andre Chiang at his restaurant RAW Taipei for a 4-hands collaboration. Held over the Mother’s Day weekend, the event was dedicated “To Her” and titled “Powerful Women” and was a tribute to women who make things happen.
Chef Jo, who was once Chef Andre’s Sous Chef at Andre when the restaurant achieved 2 Michelin Stars and was ranked 14th in The World’s 50 Best Restaurants, was elated to have the opportunity to relive the joy of cooking together with him again. At the event, both Chefs concurred that working with tacit rhythm just feels very special.



A particularly special moment was planned for Mother’s Day. Knowing how difficult it is for those in the restaurant industry to celebrate special occasions with their loved ones, Chef Andre had invited the mothers and grandmothers of the RAW team to the feast. These family members were all beaming with pride as they were able to witness first hand how their children worked. They experienced the professionalism and skills their children had to work hard at to be at the forefront of the restaurant business. Team Lolla is very proud to have been part of such a heartfelt occasion.
Rounding out the experience, Chef Jo shares, “I’m so happy to be able to cook alongside my mentor and key figure in my career and work with a very talented group of young people, who are the future of the industry. They have so much talent and so much heart. Their passion and drive is palpable and contagious. I hope they will temper this with patience needed to put in the effort and hours to get the experience they will need to stand out. I hope that they continue to thrive in this industry and meet people along the way who will invest time in giving them the feedback they need for them to grow.”
